Dual Swedish/Iranian national was arrested on a trip to Iran on 24 April 2016. Sentenced to death 21 Oct 2017 under unclear charges 'moharabeh'. Sentence upheld by the Supreme Court 5 Dec 2017. He was prepared for execution on 1 Dec 2020, while the trial of Iranian Assadollah Assadi, for taking part in a foiled bombing attack in Paris, was taking place in Belgium. Iran tried to exchange these two prisoners but this was not agreed to by Belgium or Sweden. He was transferred from Evin Prison to Raja'i Shahr for execution but later his family were told it had been postponed.
